Welcome to ephemeric.com, a space dedicated to celebrating the fleetingness of life. Here, we explore the delicate beauty of impermanence, not by clinging to every moment, but by noticing and honoring it while it’s here.
This website is a mix of poetic musings, reflective essays, and collective daily observations. Some posts take a philosophical or meditative approach, inviting you to pause and consider life’s transient nature. Others draw from psychology, sociology, or everyday experiences, highlighting small moments that deserve recognition, moments that slip by too easily if we’re not paying attention.
In the future, we also hope to offer book recommendations, sharing works on the themes of impermanence, meaning, and the human experience.
At the same time, this project is a manifesto against contemporary culture’s obsession with preservation. Endless selfies, thousands of photos, compulsive logging of every interaction — these habits risk replacing living with recording. Beyond individual behaviour, corporations store, analyze, and monetize our digital lives, creating permanent traces long after we are gone. Here, we resist that impulse. Photography and writing are used sparingly, only to enhance reflection, not to replace the lived experience itself.
Why this project matters:
Life is short. Beauty is fleeting. And yet, in that impermanence lies richness: every laugh, every conversation, every quiet sunset is amplified precisely because it cannot last forever. This website exists to explore that tension, to celebrate, reflect, and sometimes mourn the passing of things, while discovering what makes them unforgettable.
Beyond the words:
We are just beginning to experiment. Perhaps this space will grow into a collection of essays, a resource for philosophical and literary exploration, a book club, or a community of people learning to notice life more deeply. Maybe it will invite reflections, stories, or images that honor impermanence. Whatever form it takes, its heartbeat will remain the same: valuing the ephemeral, the luminous, the momentary sparks that make living meaningful.
Join us in slowing down and noticing.
